Australia Day is the official National Day of Australia. Celebrated annually on 26 January, it marks the anniversary of the 1788 arrival of the First Fleet of British Ships at Port Jackson, New South Wales, and the raising of the Flag of Great Britain at Sydney Cove by Governor Arthur Phillip.

The celebration is much more than fireworks over Sydney Opera House (although they are spectacular!) or throwing some shrimp on the barbie! Australia Day is about national pride and achievements. The Australian of the Year Awards are presented on Australia Day Eve and the day itself there's the Australia Day Honours list as well as speeches from the Governor General & the Prime Minister.

If you've got friends and family in Australia, they'll be celebrating on their day off, but if you want to celebrate with them, or are indeed an Australian living in the UK, we've got some supplies to help you celebrate over here. From inflatable crocodiles and boomerang cut outs to streamers and outback signs, you'll feel right at home! Tens of thousands of Australians live in the UK and loads of Brits live in Australia so it's the perfect excuse for a celebration. Ripper!
